What bothers me is that I have wondered for years what a wampus cat is, but I was never interested enough to just look it up.

Wow. That's lazy...

FishHawk -- It's pretty neat, indeed. We got to see Dylan on the field a few times, too.

Paul -- I'm all for getting together again, as well. Y'all need to meet my wife and kids as they're a hoot.

Dad was well loved around the school and I think he did a lot of good. He's glad to be retired, however. Can't say I blame him.

I grew up watching games in that stadium and love it still. Tradition is a big deal in this town, so I hope they keep that stadium up and running for a long, long time. One of the quirky things about the stadium is that it's a good two miles from the high school.

Weird, huh?

Glad y'all had a good time in Benton.

Sherry -- Ah, then you know all about how important high school football is here in the South!HawgWyldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02749940044190568834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736378642004875114.post-54874447173141497052008-09-20T08:40:00.000-05:002008-09-20T08:40:00.000-05:00If you really want to understand high school footb...If you really want to understand high school football in the South, pay a visit to our town, Summerville, SC. We have Coach John McKissick, the winningest coach in history!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06948631272816359901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736378642004875114.post-44387221419533096692008-09-20T07:40:00.000-05:002008-09-20T07:40:00.000-05:00Ethan, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the game las...Ethan, I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the game last night. On top of that, you gave great directions to the stadium!

I kept thinking to myself last night, that this is a great atmosphere for high school football. Though there was some sloppy play at times, overall it was a good game. And as the final score indicates, the winner was in doubt as the final seconds ticked off, but the mighty Benton Panthers managed to hang on and win.

A good time was had by all. I especially enjoyed meeting you and your dad. He's a good man and I know he had an impact on the kids while he was a principal. I hope we can get together again sometime soon.Paul Eilershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03443012393151401891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736378642004875114.post-42008761813025485962008-09-20T01:53:00.000-05:002008-09-20T01:53:00.000-05:00Dylan's football blog is great!!!Dylan's football blog is great!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16349087080262856079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736378642004875114.post-18408390499757254412008-09-20T00:21:00.001-05:002008-09-20T00:21:00.001-05:00Laura:Well, Benton managed to luck out a bit, I th...Laura:

Well, Benton managed to luck out a bit, I think. I've loved that field for over three decades and I hope to enjoy it for about three more.

I'm glad y'all came down tonight. It's always good to sit down and visit with people we meet through blogging, huh?

Heh, and I'll not gloat too much about the victory. Heck, Benton has been whipped by Conway more than a few times and I just can't root too hard against Arkansas high school kids who are giving it their best shot.HawgWyldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02749940044190568834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736378642004875114.post-20618247359880520372008-09-20T00:21:00.000-05:002008-09-20T00:21:00.000-05:00Well, you learn something new everyday. The Benton football field is my favorite stadium to watch a football game. You're so close to the field, you feel like you're part of the action!

Conway lost tonight but there's always next year!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13634146510952805095noreply@blogger.com
