Does this count as a mural?

I was reading an entry on the Coastal Commentaries blog earlier today about murals at Cape Canaveral.

I doubt that this photo from the town square of my hometown of scenic Benton, Ark., counts as a mural. I like it anyway.

If you want to buy a fine cigar from Michael, you're out of luck. In fact, you're too late by a few decades.

The building with that nifty ad sprayed on it now houses a barber shop. The "fine cigars" ad was pretty well hidden until about 10 years ago when about half the block in downtown burned to the ground. Once the rubble was cleared away, the fine cigars plug was found on one of the remaining buildings and restored a bit.

It really looks like someone needs to do some restoration work on the sign soon, indeed.

By the way, that's the clock tower of the Saline County Courthouse in the background of the photo. Neat building. I really need to post a good shot of our historic courthouse on here one day.

Thanks! I have a lot of fun picking out things like that around town...

W/a little cropping, this could make a very marketable poster or print.

Seriously? That's just a shot I grabbed on my way home from Kroger's today.

I did crop out the sky, but kind of left the rest of it as it was...

Hmmm...

Looks like a mural to me. Thought I'd stop by and "linger" a bit. I hope you and your family are having a great weekend.

Glad you stopped in. We're having an OK weekend -- too blasted hot here in central Arkansas right now, though.

Miserable weather.

Hope your weekend is going well...

lol...I like it too...and I think it does count as a mural...I like anything painted on the side of a building.

I'm glad you caught that shot on the way to Kroger's (oh my goodness, I haven't seen a Kroger's in years. Even before I left the big F.S. all the Kroger's had moved out of town)

;-)

ps...thanks for the link love, it will be returned...promise

That's a historical mural. I sure hope they do restore it and keep it there. It's great!

Yep. Kroger's is the big grocery store in town around here. Well, there's the Wal-Mart Supercenter but I hate shopping there and there's a Harvest Foods, but Kroger is where most of us Bentonites prefer to shop.

I really do wish I could get that "CommentLuv" plugin to work with Blogger. I need to do some research. That thing is nifty...

I kind of like that Mural, but then again I love "old stuff" like that. I'm a sucker for old time radio shows, for example.
